Skyla Sanders
Q: You’re going into your senior year while also balancing content creation and modeling—how have you learned to juggle all of those different roles?
A: Honestly I don’t think I’ve fully figured it out yet. It’s really hard to balance everything, and there are definitely times when one thing has to take priority over the others. When I’m in school that’s usually my main focus, so I tend to put a lot of my content creation and modeling projects on pause. I’ve learned to be okay with that and remind myself that everything moves in seasons. Sometimes it’s time to focus on school, and other times I have more space to dedicate to creative work.
Q: What are you currently studying at NYU, and what originally drew you to that path?
A: I’m studying adolescent psychology, and I honestly never thought I would go down this path, but I started taking some of the classes as electives and really enjoyed it and thought it was fun and interesting so I kept doing it.
Q: As someone who’s experienced both, I have to ask the age-old question: LA or New York?
A: LA for sure.

Q: How are you spending your last real “summer break” before graduation?
A: Relaxing and being mermaids with the girls.
Q: We had such a fun shoot day in Malibu—want to share a little about the Bella Diaries shoot experience?
A: Sofia and I had the best time at Paradise Cove Cafe. It was super gloomy but fun and girly and amazing.
Q: At our shoot, you mentioned how you rarely wear colors besides black. Is there a color you want to start incorporating into your wardrobe this summer?
A: Definitely pink.

Q: What pieces or brands in your closet have you been gravitating toward recently?
A: I’ve been loving EB Denim jeans and always love a good Brandy tank.
Q: What advice would you give to your younger self?
A: To not worry so much 😇
Q: What are three words you’d use to describe yourself?
A: Curious, fun, and passionate.
