Sadie Jean
Sadie Jean is Los Angeles based singer song writer and is currently on her debut European tour.

Where are you from?
I’m from Orange County, California — a town called Tustin.
When did you start making music?
I’ve been singing and making up songs for as long as I can remember. Before I was
even old enough to be literate, I would force my older sister to be my scribe and write my songs down for me. It’s always been my favorite pastime, and now it gets to be my career too, which is cool.

Three best words to describe you?
Sensitive, optimistic, indecisive.
Like ours, your team and collaborators are made up of family and friends — how does it feel to create and grow alongside your loved ones?
It’s so important to me to be able to work with people I love and trust. My siblings are my managers, and all my collaborators are good friends. It just makes the process so much more enjoyable, and the wins are extra rewarding.
What has been the hardest part of making/writing music?
There’s a lot of vulnerability required to be an artist who releases really personal music. I think dealing with that has been the hardest part. I wish I could pick and choose which people were allowed to hear my music. It’s such a scary feeling to put all of my deepest, darkest thoughts and emotions out in the open. It feels counterintuitive as someone who’s typically more reserved, but it’s always so rewarding and cathartic once I rip the bandaid off.
What advice do you have for people who want to get into music?
Do it! Put yourself out there, make songs every day, and find people you have fun
creating with, and everything will work itself out.
What is the inspiration behind your debut album “Early Twenties Torture”?
It really is just a time capsule of my life from age 21–23. Maybe it’s just me, but I really felt like every few weeks my life was falling apart for whatever reason. Navigating love and friendship and growing up and everything that comes with being in your early twenties was overwhelming for sure, and these songs are fully responsible for keeping me sane.
What is your favorite song on your new album?
“Somebody’s Everything.”

What three songs do you think capture “you” the best for a first-time listener?
Hmmmm maybe “Somebody’s Everything,” “Locksmith,” and “Know You Forever.”
How do you keep calm and find balance while on tour?
I think the long car rides on tour are when I get to really recharge and recenter myself. Also, I’m super lucky because my mom typically goes on tour with me, which helps with any homesickness.
You’re currently on your second week of tour — where are you most excited to visit?
Yes! It’s been a dream come true. When this goes live, I think I’ll be in Prague. I’m
excited to go to Milan, Italy!!!! I never thought I’d get to play a show in Italy! But
honestly, I never thought I’d get to play in any of these 23 cities, so I’m super excited for all of it.
